MPAC Leads 50+ Organizations to demand Rep. Randy Fine be Censured and Stripped of his Committee Assignments

Washington, D.C. | www.mpac.org | February 19, 2026 — The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) is leading a coalition of over 50 civil rights, faith-based, and community organizations urging House Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to formally censure Representative Randy Fine and remove him from the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Education and Workforce Committee.

In December 2025, during a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee hearing, Rep. Fine declared, “mainstream Muslims should be destroyed,” and proudly amplified the clip across social media. It was an unambiguous call for violence against an entire religion. The statement was not made at a rally, on a podcast, or in a private conversation; it was delivered during a Congressional hearing.

What followed was a series of condemnations without consequence, signaling to Fine that his violent rhetoric would be tolerated. As the letter describes: “When such language is left unaddressed, it legitimizes violence, endangers American Muslim communities, and signals that calls for mass harm are tolerable within the United States House of Representatives.”

Taking full advantage of the latitude, just last week, Fine posted the following on social media:

"If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one."

We are well beyond the time for condemnations without consequences, and that starts with House Leadership taking concrete action. To that end, the signatories, representing a broad cross-section of American civil society, including Muslim, Christian, Jewish, civil rights, and interfaith organizations, stand united in demanding that Representative Randy Fine be censured and stripped of his committee assignments.
