Standing in Solidarity with Our Jewish Neighbors in Montgomery County
The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) strongly condemns the antisemitic vandalism targeting Shaare Tefila Congregation in Olney, Maryland. The hateful graffiti, including a swastika and deeply offensive language, was not only an attack on a house of worship but on the shared values of dignity, peace, and religious freedom that unite us as Americans.
We extend our heartfelt solidarity to our Jewish neighbors during this painful time. No community should ever feel unsafe in its sacred spaces or silenced in expressing its identity. We call on the Montgomery County Police Department to thoroughly investigate this incident and bring those responsible to justice. An attack on one faith community is an attack on all, and we stand firmly against the rising tide of antisemitism in all its forms.
We also support efforts to ensure that every community has the resources to protect its members and institutions. Safety and security should never be a privilege; they are a right.
We proudly work hand-in-hand with Jewish organizations and faith leaders across the country to advance justice, promote mutual understanding, and confront hate in all its forms. May we continue to build bridges of partnership, stand together against bigotry, and affirm the fundamental truth that hate has no home here—in Montgomery County or anywhere in our nation.
