MPAC Condemns Fatal ICE Shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis

Washington, D.C. | www.mpac.org | January 8, 2026 — The Muslim Public Affairs Council condemns the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minneapolis. The murder of this innocent woman is the tragic culmination of an increasingly hostile approach employed by the administration, specifically designed to strike fear and cause unrest.

Rather than condemning this violence, the administration immediately moved to justify the murder, supporting federal agents and blaming innocent members of the community. This reinforces an intensified pattern of using federal law enforcement and ICE agents to intimidate and antagonize those who speak out against civil rights abuses, particularly within immigrant communities.

MPAC joins Minnesota elected officials, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, Senator Tina Smith as well as City Council members in calling for full accountability and removal of ICE agents from Minnesota. We demand a thorough and transparent investigation that delivers justice for Ms. Good’s family and call on the Administration to cease policies that induce fear and bring violence into our communities. To allow federal law enforcement to police our communities without reproach is a grave violation of our constitutional values and undermines, rather than ensures, our public safety.
