Sharia Free America Caucus
On December 18th, 2025 Congressman Keith Self (TX-03) and Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) launched the Sharia Free America Caucus, a congressional group dedicated to opposing the perceived spread of Sharia law in the United States. Since its inception, the caucus has grown to 66 members from 25 states. To date, there has been no attempt to implement Sharia law in any state.

Anti-Sharia State Bills Enacted
TEXAS
On September 12, 2025, Texas enacted H.B. 4211: Relating to certain residential property interests controlled by certain entities. This bill would prohibit the establishment of developments perceived as operating under Sharia law such as EPIC City.
FLORIDA
On April 4, 2026, Florida enacted CS/CS/HB 1471: System of Laws and Terrorist Organizations. The bill prohibits courts and other authorities from enforcing foreign or religious law, including Sharia law.
Paid to Hate: Islamophobic Political Ads on Facebook and Instagram and the 2026 Elections
Over the course of six months, at least forty political candidates have collectively run more than one hundred advertisements on Facebook and Instagram that advance narratives portraying Muslim communities and Islamic practices as threats to American law and society. CSTP tracking has identified 214 such advertisements generating between 11.8 million and 13.8 million impressions. The Center has also calculated that candidates have spent between $172,600 and $212,525 on such campaigns in nine states over a period of six months.
