Sameer Hossain
Managing Director
Sameer serves as Managing Director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), where he coordinates the work of MPAC’s three policy-focused centers: the First Amendment Center, the Center for Security, Technology, and Policy, and the Center for Government Impact.
Prior to joining MPAC, Sameer served for nearly two decades in the U.S. federal government, including at the White House and the U.S. Departments of Defense, State, and Homeland Security. His responsibilities included advancing international human rights and domestic civil rights and civil liberties. As a Senior Policy Advisor at the White House, he helped develop and implement the first-ever U.S. National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia and Anti-Arab Hate.
Sameer is passionate about a human rights-centered approach to policymaking that advances security, prosperity, and equal protection for all communities.
When the weather is nice, you can find Sameer kayaking on the Potomac River alongside the National Mall.
