MPAC Condemns Pro-Israel Conferences in Los Angeles and Las Vegas Featuring Known Anti-Muslim Provocateurs and Members of Congress

Washington, D.C. | www.mpac.org | September 3, 2026 — The Muslim Public Affairs Council is deeply concerned by the decision of prominent Jewish communal and pro-Israel organizations to provide platforms to Mosab Hassan Yousef and Gad Saad at the Jewish American Summit in Los Angeles on August 30th.

There is a fundamental distinction between legitimate political criticism and direct attacks on Islam and American Muslim communities. Yousef repeatedly used explicit and degrading language about the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad, and Islam itself. These remarks are anti-Muslim bigotry and were not only welcomed by attendees and hosts, but invited laughter and applause on multiple occasions.

What makes this incident particularly concerning is not simply the rhetoric frequently advanced by these individuals, but the institutional backing of the event and its attendees. The summit was organized and hosted by Aish LA / Aish Global and sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish National Fund, and other prominent organizations. T

hese institutions have significant reach and influence within American civic and political life. Their decision to platform speakers known for inflammatory rhetoric gives that rhetoric a level of visibility and legitimacy that it would not otherwise possess.This concern is particularly relevant as anti-Muslim narratives continue to circulate through political and media networks. Public figures such as Randy Fine, who attended the Republican Jewish Coalition's Leadership Summit in Las Vegas, continue to fuel anti-Muslim vitriol by regularly describing Muslims and Islam through a lens of extremism, foreign threats, or collective suspicion.

Organizations that rightly condemn antisemitism and advocate for the protection of Jewish communities should understand the importance of applying the same standard to anti-Muslim bigotry. MPAC continues to work closely with our Jewish partners, including our recent conversation with JCPA President Amy Spitalnick, while mobilizing interfaith partners to speak out and condemn these statements.
