MPAC is hosting a follow-up to our non-partisan Los Angeles Mayoral Forum. We look forward to welcoming Mayor Bass to join the conversation with the Angeleno and Muslim communities. As with this first conversation, both candidates are being hosted on equivalent terms; MPAC is nonpartisan and does not endorse or oppose candidates for public office.
This community is not a guest in Los Angeles, and the importance of these visits cannot be understated. For too long our communities have been viewed at best as tokenized outreach in times of electoral need and at worst a nuisance to ignore. As anti-Muslim rhetoric rises nationwide, it has never been more crucial to reframe the presence, importance, and impact our community has in the areas we call home. From New York to Michigan to Los Angeles, these conversations are the first of a long road to a newfound voice American Muslims proudly hold in our country.
In collaboration with MAS PACE & ICSC, this is an opportunity for candidates to speak on her campaign's central issues, their commitments to engaging with the Muslim community, and for Angelinos to learn more about their candidates.
NOTE: MPAC Foundation, MAS PACE, & ICSC are nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organizations. This candidate forum is conducted solely for voter education and does not constitute an endorsement of, opposition to, or support for any candidate, political party, or campaign. The views expressed by participating candidates are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of MPAC Foundation, MAS PACE, or ICSC.
