At the 2023 MPAC Convention, Dr. Basil Abdelkarim delivered his keynote address, focusing on the reality facing Gazans and ways to support. Dr. Basil Abdelkarim is a Palestinian American physician born and raised in Southern California. He is a husband, father of five, activist, writer, and one of the founders of KinderUSA, an American Muslim nonprofit that works on behalf of disadvantaged Palestinian children. At this event, MPAC President, Salam Al-Marayati shed light on the discriminatory practices used against Muslims within U.S. national security policies. The discussion focused on the need to reevaluate security approaches, address the root causes of anti-Muslim animus, and highlight the dismissal of other major security threats, including White Supremacy and Hindutva.
