Saudi expatriate, Jamal Khashoggi, left his country and family for the freedom to “speak when so many cannot.” One year later, he was murdered inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. In covering issues like race, gender, international politics, and recruiting voices like that of Jamal Khashoggi, Karen Attiah elevates seldom heard stories. Since her colleague’s murder, she has led a movement demanding justice and calling for the protection of journalists worldwide. Join us April 14, 2019 in Los Angeles to posthumously honor his legacy of courageous journalism. Omar Noureldin, a foreign policy analyst and MPAC vice president & general counsel, joined CNN Newsroom to discuss the impact of the Saudi-led Qatar blockade on U.S. national security interests in the Middle East. Noureldin commented on Saudi Arabia's hegemonic goals in the region and how its blame on Qatar for supporting terrorist groups is a way to deflect from itself. Further isolation of Qatar pushes them closer to Iran, which is not in America's best interest. Watch more commentary by MPAC's policy and media analysts: http://bit.ly/2t5jqYN
