The last few days of Ramadan are upon us, and with the blessed month coming to an end, we hope it has been one of peace and increased spirituality. We pray that God blesses us all with a renewed hope in humanity and an unwavering commitment to justice and truth.

Fasting is ordained for you as it was ordained for those before you, so that you might remain conscious of God.” (Quran 2:183)

This has been a blessed month for MPAC, with Ramadan beginning with the end of our third Young Leaders Summit in Washington, DC. More than 30 undergraduate and graduate students attended our 5th annual government summit which took the delegates on a whirlwind tour of Capitol Hill. The summit included meetings with Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee who has held three hearings on the radicalization of Muslims, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) and the White House.

Along with our events to continue the conversation about Islam and Muslim, Haris Tarin, the Director of the DC Office, was invited to attend the White House iftar. Tarin was able to speak to the President and thank him for his continued work with and support of the Muslim American community. Knowing the President had just celebrated his 50th birthday and is a huge basketball fan, Tarin presented President Barack Obama with a gift on behalf of MPAC of Hakeem Olajuwon autographed basketball.

MPAC continues to works to educate and serve the Muslim American community and promote the Islamic values of mercy, justice, peace, human dignity, freedom and equality for all.

Your contributions to MPAC will not only fulfill these aspirations but also go towards fulfilling your zakat obligation. Your donations to MPAC are zakat eligible, tax deductible, morally invaluable and spiritually incalculable.
