MPAC's 25th annual Media Awards honoree, Hasan Minhaj, is a comedian, “The Daily Show” correspondent and creator of the powerful off-Broadway show “Homecoming King,” which tackles issues of identity, interracial love, and integration. The sharp and witty correspondent on the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program “The Daily Show,” actor and comedian Hasan Minhaj has produced eye-opening and gut-busting segments that tackle ISIS, Islamophobia, race, healthcare and the environment. He recently finished a North American tour of his play “Homecoming King,” where he explores his Indian-American-Muslim identity, interracial love, racism, bullying, and his family’s quest to achieve the elusive American Dream.

Over 400 people joined the Muslim Public Affairs Council for its 23rd Annual Media Awards Gala honoring "Voices of Courage and Conscience." Host Aron Kader and special guests Mike Farrell, Hasan Minhaj and Faran Tahir presented awards to the Oscar-nominated film "Omar," CNN's "Parts Unknown" episode on Jerusalem, Marvel Comics for introducing American Muslim superhero "Kamala Khan" as Ms. Marvel, and the powerful documentary "Valentino's Ghost."
