More than 200 people attended a special lecture presented by MPAC President Salam Al-Marayati at the University of Dayton in Ohio, in which he talked about the progressive Muslim voice which stresses that critical thinking is a requirement of Islam, and should lead to removing layers of confusion about religion from traditionalism.

Last week, MPAC's Director of Policy and Programming Edina Lekovic traveled to Orlando, Fla., to participate in the University of Central Florida's Diversity Week. The daylong event, "Islam: Religion of Peace, Empowerment and Discovery," was organized by the United Muslim Foundation. -

Last week, Saadia Khan, MPAC's Civic Outreach Coordinator, spoke to 150 7th grade students at Hudson Middle School in Long Beach, CA. The presentation was in line with their studies on Christianity, Judaism and Islam and their project to create posters regarding religious freedom and tolerance. -
