Nathan Cirrillo and victims who were injured during the heinous attack. We stand in solidarity with the Canadian people.

Yesterday, MPAC President Salam Al-Marayati participated in a panel discussion following a screening of HBO’s new documentary “The Newburgh Sting” at the AFI Docs Documentary Festival in Washington, DC.The documentary, which will debut on HBO on July 21, reveals the FBI’s involvement in the domestic terror case of the “Newburgh Four,” which targeted a Muslim community in the disadvantaged neighborhood of Newburgh, NY and lured individuals into agreeing to commit acts of terrorism. -

Sadly, the longer the conflict drags on, the more that the moderate voices who represent the vast majority of the Syrian people are being drowned out by extremists on all sides. This is a disservice to the righteous cause of freedom which Syrians are striving for. -

The Against Violent Extremism (AVE) Network, a global network tackling violent extremism, featured MPAC’s Safe Spaces Initiative in their April newsletter as a “Project Spotlight.” The AVE Network is made up of former extremists and survivors of extremism working together to prevent violent extremism. They are unique in their use of technology to “connect, exchange, disseminate and influence all forms of violent extremism.” -

The United Nations has warned that the Central African Republic (CAR) is heading toward a humanitarian disaster to the point that current sectarian violence between Christian and Muslim militias will end in genocide. Since December 2013, bands of Christian militia, known as anti-Balaka, have waged war on Muslims and their property and engaged in a violent campaign of “ethno-religious cleansing,” according to Amnesty International. French and African Union troops have been stationed in CAR since December but are overwhelmed with the 2.5 million residents requiring assistance and safety. -
