  • 'Day of the Falcon' Highlights Arab Region & Cultures

    “Day of the Falcon” (aka “Black Gold”), an epic adventure film with global appeal that offers a positive portrayal of the Arab culture, landscape and Islam is hitting theaters March 1. The film starring Antonio Banderas, Freida Pinto and Tahar Rahim, is the story of two rival kingdoms in the Arab Gulf region who discard their truce until when oil is discovered between their territories.   • MPAC Congratulates Islamic Center of South Bay for DOJ Ruling Supporting Religious Freedom

    MPAC congratulates Masjid Alnoor, the Islamic Center of South Bay, for reaching a historic settlement with the City of Lomita through the intervention of the Department of Justice. Following an inquiry raised by MPAC, the DOJ opened a case, which led to this week’s ruling that the City of Lomita violated the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000 (RLUIPA) when it denied the Islamic center’s application to build a new mosque on its property.

  • Al-Marayati Speaks About Closing Gitmo at Peace Vigil
