MPAC's Hollywood Bureau is hosting an actors intensive workshop at Scott Sedita Acting Studio in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 9 for those pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. The four-hour workshop will be taught by two of Hollywood’s most influential acting coaches, Scott Sedita and Mariko Ballentine. Sedita and Ballentine will share with the workshop participants ways to move their career forward and invaluable audition techniques that will get them noticed. -

These are exciting times for Muslims in Hollywood. If you're like us, then you enjoy sitting through the credits after a TV show or movie just to see if any Muslims were involved. In time this won't be a big deal, but growing up where there were only a handful of Muslim actors, directors, writers and producers I am amazed at how far we have come in an industry that seemed so inaccessible a decade ago. -

With the debut of the FX Network’s new dramatic series “Tyrant” tonight, the Muslim Public Affairs Council thanked the producers for reaching out to its Hollywood Bureau to minimize stereotypes and enhance the accuracy and authentic representation of Islam and Muslims. We believe that in order to get better stories told, American Muslims must be part of the process whether it is through their creative voices or engagement with the industry.
