The Cost of Embracing Genocide: Trump Wins, Democrats Lose—MPAC Will Continue To Fight for You

Washington, D.C. | www.mpac.org | November 6, 2024 — The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) congratulates President-elect Donald Trump on his successful campaign and return to the White House. His message of speaking on behalf of everyday Americans resonated with many in the working class who seek a renewed sense of representation, belonging, and economic recovery.

We acknowledge his remarks last night recognizing the importance of unity among all communities, including American Muslims and Arab Americans.

“They came from, […] all quarters. Union, non-union, African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, Arab American, Muslim American, we had everybody, and it was beautiful. It was a historic realignment. Uniting citizens of all backgrounds around a common core of common sense. You know, we’re the party of common sense.”

– President-Elect Donald J. Trump

As he begins his new term, we will expect his administration to uphold the constitutional rights of all Americans and provide a government that works for everyone—regardless of background or belief.

This will be a critical time for our nation as we transition from one party to another. We call upon President-elect Trump and his team to ensure that the voices of all Americans are heard. Many in our communities are in pain from the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which has taken the lives of over 50,000 innocent Palestinians. Voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and around the nation cast a decisive ballot against the Biden Administration’s policy of enabling Israel’s genocide. We acknowledge the concerns of American Muslims of Syrian, Pakistani, Yemeni, and Sudanese descent, who engaged the Trump campaign due to their deep frustrations with the Biden Administration’s foreign policy failures.

We urge President-elect Trump, who campaigned on bringing peace to the region, to take meaningful steps toward an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, Palestinian self-determination, and in realigning U.S. foreign policy to promote peace, diplomacy and democratic values.

We stand ready to work with the administration of President-elect Trump to advance an agenda that promotes an inclusive society, ensuring equal protection under the law and civil liberties for all. MPAC will continue to advocate for the values of freedom, equality, and justice, working to ensure that our government serves the needs and rights of every American.

MPAC is committed to building an institution that serves the values and interests of the American Muslim community. In the next four years, we will work with all Americans to ensure that our constitution is upheld and that our domestic and foreign policies reflect our values.

With the election behind us, our work starts now.

You can build a future free from fear and bigotry.
