Migdad, Summer 2013 Govt & Policy Intern, Is a Student of the World

July 9, 2013

Abdalrahman Migdad is MPAC's Summer 2013 Policy and Government Relations intern in Los Angeles. He is an international student from Palestine, who is currently pursuing a graduate degree at Pepperdine University School of Public Policy specializing in Economics and International Relations.

Migdad said that one of his goals while in the U.S. is to gain a better understanding of American policy on a local level. Migdad enjoys traveling to other countries to learn about different cultures and local community management.

"Experiencing different cultures is one of my passions and my favorite learning technique," he said. “I had the opportunity to learn English in the U.K. I’ve also experienced the Chinese culture recognized with its discipline, the ancient Egyptian cultures, and the one-of-a-kind mixed American culture."

Migdad said he was interested in interning at MPAC because the council is one of the main representatives of the American Muslims in the U.S. and has relationships with different cultures within the American society, which provides the opportunity to learn about how multiple different cultures within the same society interact with each other, overcome problems and find ways to coexist.

Migdad expects that interning at MPAC is an opportunity to get professional experience in government relations and advanced education on different cultures. Most of all, he admires MPAC's goal to enhancing the political and civic participation of American Muslims.
