Meet Government & Policy Intern Adnan Suleman

June 19, 2014

Adnan Suleman, a rising third year law student at Tulane University Law School, has joined MPAC as a summer government and policy intern. Adnan earned his B.A. in Political Science from Tulane University with a focus in comparative politics and international relations and spent his junior year of college as an exchange student at the London School of Economics. Adnan's interest in applying his legal training and political science background to substantive policy work has brought him to MPAC.

In 2011, Adnan was awarded a U.S. Fulbright scholarship, and spent a year teaching English as a foreign language to students at Selcuk University, in Konya, Turkey. During summer 2013, Adnan interned with the Center for Law and Policy at the University of Management and Technology in Lahore, Pakistan. There, he conducted research on the rights of non-Muslims under Islamic law by writing literature reviews of recent scholarly work and meeting with prominent members of the legal community in Pakistan.

Hoping to work across the globe after law school, Adnan intends to translate his legal, policy and international experiences into a career in diplomacy. He believes that American Muslims have a special role to play in U.S. foreign policy by serving as emissaries of peace and understanding to the rest of the Muslim world, and he hopes to be a part of the process, God-willing!
