MPAC Wishes You a Blessed Eid Mubarak
November 4, 2011

As millions of Muslims from around the world gather in Mecca today for the end of anotherHajj (pilgrimage), the Muslim Public Affairs Council would like to wish you and your family a blessed Eid ul-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.
Eid ul-Adha commemorates Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God, until God intervened to provide him with a ram to sacrifice instead. Muslims take this time to remember the importance of sacrificing for God, the communal good and one another.
It has been a revolutionary year for the global Muslim community as brutal regimes have been toppled, misguided leaders have been removed and thousands of people have sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of freedom and liberty.
MPAC takes this time to remember all those who strive for the betterment of their society in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
On this second major Muslim holiday of the year, we remember the true definition of sacrifice and pray for all those that are still struggling for peace and justice.
