MPAC’s “I am Change” Goes to CAIR-New York
May 12, 2011
MPAC brought its national “I Am Change” campaign to New York last week at the Council on American Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) Annual Banquet and Leadership Conference. CAIR invited organizations, such as MPAC, to host workshops at the conference to empower the Muslim American community through civic and political engagement.
MPAC’s Director of the Washington, DC, Office, Haris Tarin and New York steering committee member Sami Elmansoury talked to an audience of more than 100 people about how to ensure their voices are heard by their members of Congress and elected officials.
Workshop participants also got hands-on training on topics, such as how to frame your message in a meeting and how to effectively get your point across in an informed and passionate manner.
To host a workshop in your area contact MPAC to schedule a date at info@mpac.org
