Join MPAC for 'I Am Change' Workshop in Ohio
January 27, 2011
On Saturday, Jan. 29, MPAC's Haris Tarin, Director of the Washington, DC Office, and Alejandro Beutel, Government and Policy Analyst, will be in Columbus, Ohio, to conduct an "I Am Change" Civic Leadership workshop. The event, which is hosted by the Muslim Student Association at Ohio State University, will help students and community members build a strong civic identity and movement on the college campus and with other student communities. Tarin will also give the Friday khutba (sermon) and speak at a Friday night program for the greater Columbus community.
MPAC serves to empower our young Muslim leaders through civic engagement. Through our "I Am Change" workshop, we will provide a rundown on how to make changes on a local, state and federal level. "I Am Change" enables individuals to envision an idea and communicate that idea effectively within the workings of our system, which then in turn leads them to become future leaders of our nation.
To schedule a "I Am Change" workshop in your community, please contact the MPAC office at 213-383-3443.
