MPAC's Hussein Talks about Ramadan during Dallas Forum
August 7, 2012
Organized by MPAC’s Young Leaders Summit delegate, Ghaidir Qaddura, on the weekend of July 14, MPAC held two community events in Dallas.
The first event was at the Islamic Center of Irving, where Yasmin Hussein, MPAC’s Young Leaders Program Coordinator, spoke about how to prepare for Ramadan and what type of community service events to hold to keep active during this blessed month. The discussion was followed by a forum, where the audience shared ideas on how to prepare for Ramadan and ways to stay involved within the community.
The second event in Dallas was an “I Am Change" Civic Leadership Workshop led by Hussein at the Colleyville Masjid. “I Am Change” is one of MPAC’s unique programs that is aimed towards empowering American Muslim youth into becoming active citizens in their local communities and government by providing knowledge on how to promote civic engagement from an Islamic perspective and how to advocate for the issues they care about.
Please get in touch with us today to schedule an "I Am Change" workshop in your community by calling (202) 547-7701 or emailing us at iamchange@mpac.org.
