MPAC Hollywood Bureau Chairman Talks About Casting on SAG-AFTRA Panel

In early November, Ahmos Hassan, Chairman of MPAC’s Hollywood Bureau, was among several Hollywood insiders who participated in a panel discussion at SAG-AFTRA about "Slating For The Camera: Casting Directors Tell It.”  
The panel comprised of casting directors, agents and managers who know the industry ins-and-outs. They dispensed valuable advice to the actors in attendance on subjects ranging from how to prepare for an audition, how to stand out from the crowd, diversity issues in casting, professionalism, the etiquette of auditioning and the importance of keeping a positive attitude throughout the journey.

Hassan, who is president and chief executive officer of Chariot Management, Inc. an entertainment management and production company, has more than 23 years of experience providing talent management and production services. Hassan has produced TV projects and live-stage shows and manages the professional endeavors of many writers and performers.

His most recent project, "Big Baby Boomer," a one-hour comedy special, he produced for CMT, aired last year. He is currently co-producing the musical, "Dr. Zhivago," which is expected to reach the Broadway stage in 2015. His production credits include executive producer of the two-time Emmy Award-winning TV series "Life with Louie," which also won three Humanitas Prizes.

Committed to many charitable causes, Hassan is a dedicated board member of MPAC. He also continues to serve on the Southern California Committee of Human Rights Watch, and is a co-founder of The Homeless Empowerment Relationship Organization (HERO).
