You don’t have to wait much longer to see “Fordson: Faith, Fasting, Football” on the big screen. The 20th Annual MPAC Media Awards Honoree will play exclusively at select AMC theatres starting Friday, Sept. 9.

The award-winning film about high school football and Arab Americans living in a post 9/11 America will run for one-week at the AMC Independent program in Atlanta, Chicago, the Washington, DC, area, Dallas, Dearborn, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, San Francisco and San Jose.

Fordson” documents a high school football team from Dearborn, MI, as they prepare for their big senior rivalry game during the last 10 days of Ramadan. The documentary unearths a community desperately holding onto its Islamic faith while struggling for acceptance.

“We are honored that AMC selected ‘Fordson’ for theatrical distribution,” said Rashid Ghazi, the film’s director and executive producer. “It is an inspirational story about the American Dream that we hope everyone gets a chance to see.”

The film recently received the Special Grand Jury Award at the Slamdance Film Festival, was named Champion of the World Cup Film Awards and received various other film awards.
