MPAC to Hold Election Forums in S. California This Weekend

MPAC will hold two Primary Election Forums in Los Angeles and Fullerton, CA this weekend to broaden the exposure and understanding of local Muslim American voters ahead of the February 5th "Super Tuesday" primary.
MPAC Executive Director Salam Al-Marayati will discuss how to effectively communicate with presidential contenders and state representatives, as well as keeping you informed of important issues that the candidates are discussing this election cycle. Among the defining issues to be addressed will be civil rights & civil liberties, U.S.-Muslim world relations, the War in Iraq, health care, and national security.
On Sunday at the Islamic Center of Southern California, Associate Director of the Pat Brown Institute of Public Affairs at the California State University, Los Angeles, Dr. Ali Modarres, will discuss the demographic shifts on the national and regional levels which may impact the election.

Muslim Americans are expected to turn out in record numbers this year. In an effort to promote greater awareness and participation among Muslim American voters, MPAC has released "Activate '08: MPAC's Policy Guide to the 2008 Election" which is now available online.
