Last Friday, lone gunman Paul Ciancia opened fire at the airport, shooting and killing Gerardo Hernandez at point-blank range. Hernandez is the first TSA officer to die in the line of duty.
In the letter to Pistole, MPAC thanked the TSA for its daily work in keeping passengers and airports safe:
“MPAC offers the TSA tremendous support during this trying time. We are grateful to the men and women of the TSA for being at the front lines of keeping our airways safe, and we commend their efforts. Your work goes beyond what travelers see, and is vital to our nation. MPAC has worked with the TSA in the past, and we hope to continue to do so. We honor Officer Hernandez, and keep you in our prayers.”
