According to the President, one of the main functions of the new Agency is "to make certain that consumers get information that is clear and concise -- in plain language -- so they can compare products and know exactly what they're getting themselves into." In his speech, he outlined his proposal for enhancing the current financial regulatory system to prevent another economic collapse. The President also went on to assert that his intended reforms will not hinder consumer choice and product innovation.

MPAC is heartened that the White House is reaching out to consumers from all backgrounds, to ensure that the diverse voices of Americans are heard when it comes to the financial well-being of the country. Muslim American consumers contribute significantly to the nation's everyday economic activities, spending an estimated $200 billion dollars annually.

MPAC continues to engage all levels of government and civil society to ensure the overall welfare all Americans is secured.
