Bidding Farewell to LAPD Chief Bratton

Chief William Bratton
Last week, Executive Director Salam Al-Marayati joined more than 300 L.A. civic leaders at a special event to bid farewell to Los Angeles Police Department Chief William Bratton. On October 31, Bratton will end his seven-year tenure as Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department to enter the private sector.
John Mack, President of the Urban League and of the Police Commission, applauded Bratton for bringing much-needed vision and leadership to LAPD.
Dafer Dakhil, director of the Omar ibn Al-Khattab Foundation, thanked Bratton for forming the Chief's Muslim Community Forum. Syed Moustafa Al-Qazwini, imam of the Islamic Educational Center of Orange County, also offered a retirement gift to the Chief. Other community groups represented CAIR-LA and Masjid Felix Bilal.
