Act Now to Reach Out to Muslim Voters in Swing States

October 20, 2008

"Rock the Muslim Vote"

As part of its "Rock the Muslim Vote" initiative, the Muslim Public Affairs Council will be organizing phone banking efforts in cities across the country as the presidential election enters its crucial last two weeks.

Volunteers will encourage Muslim Americans to vote, ensure that they know the location of their polling place, and inform voters about key issues using MPAC's "Activate 08" election guide. These issues include national security and civil rights, immigration, the economy, the Iraq War, healthcare, and U.S.-Muslim world relations.

Phone banking has been scheduled for the dates and locations provided below. Volunteers will be given a phone banking kit with an issue-focused script to use when calling registered Muslim American voters in the key swing states of Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
