As information continues to emerge regarding the arrest of Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo amidst allegations he was collecting bomb-making material, MPAC reaffirms its call to all members of Muslim American communities to be in contact with local law enforcement for the safety and security of their communities, their institutions and their country.

We condemn the heinous actions of anyone who resorts to violence as a solution to address their grievances. We as Americans stand by our men and women in uniform and commend law enforcement for their quick action and the gun shop owner for being a concerned citizen.

We are relieved that a second disaster was averted near Ft. Hood, which sits north of the city of Killeen. Ft. Hood officials said Abdo, who was absent without leave from Ft. Campbell, KY, was not near the base and no incident occurred there.
