MPAC is host its monthly Young Leaders webinar on “Growth with Challenges: Muslim American Youth Identity at a Crossroads” on Thursday, May 24, at 9 p.m. EST/ 6 p.m. EST.

RSVP: Email summits@mpac.org by 5 p.m. EST, Thursday, May 24.

The webinar will feature a presentation on a groundbreaking research project about Muslim American youth and their identity. The research was conducted last summer by MPAC and Dr. Brian Calfano, Director of Missouri State University’s (MSU) Poll Research Center and one of the top religion and identity researchers.

Never before have two prominent institutions, such as MPAC and the MSU's Poll Research Center, paired up to conduct a thorough analysis of Muslim American youth. The presentation will be followed by an interactive forum to allow the audience to share their thoughts and experiences.

“Our youth are our community’s greatest asset, yet far too often they are talked about, but not spoken to directly,” said Yasmin Hussein, Young Leaders Program Coordinator. “The information gathered from this research is very telling, and we hope that our event will create a safe space for an important dialogue with our communities’ future.”

Every month, MPAC will host a webinar in order to provide a platform for guidance, expression and thought-provoking dialogue for our Young Leaders Alumni network as well as the general public. Last month, MPAC hosted a webinar on community-oriented policing with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
