MPAC’s Hollywood Bureau is proud to announce that it will be co-sponsoring the 17th Annual Arab Film Festival on Oct. 18-20 at the Harmony Gold Theater in Hollywood.

The mission of the the Arab Film Festival is to enhance the public's understanding of Arab culture and to provide alternative representations of Arabs that challenge the stereotypical images frequently encountered on American mass media.

The festival screens films from and about the Arab world that provide realistic perspectives on Arab people, culture, art, religion, history and politics.

To date, the Arab Festival is the most successful annual Arab cultural event and North America’s largest annual showcase of independent Arab filmmakers. Nearly 10,000 people attend the festival annually throughout five major U.S. cities.

The festival curators cull projects from major international festivals, worldwide production companies and independent film distributors to represent and showcase the most compelling accomplished features, shorts and documentaries from Arab filmmakers from around the world.
