MPAC Dir. of SoCal Govt Relations to Hold 'I Am Change' Workshop
On Sunday, Feb. 5, at noon, Aziza Hasan, MPAC's Director of Southern California Government Relations, is holding an "I Am Change" workshop at the Islamic Center of Southern California.
Are you sick of hearing government officials, media pundits and elected leaders talk about Muslims, but never bother talking to Muslims?
Do you wish you knew how to effectively talk to public officials about the domestic and foreign policy issues you care deeply about, so that they care about them enough to act?
MPAC has created a unique program to empower Muslim Americans all around the country to stand up and advocate for the issues we all care about, and strengthen your ability to do it effectively.
Check out this short video to learn more about the "I Am Change" program.
During the three-hour presentation, Hasan will discuss:
- Inspiring knowledge on how to promote civic engagement from an Islamic perspective with members of your community
- A deeper understanding of how local, state and federal government works and your role in advocating at each level
- Practical skills in how to talk about the issues you care about with public officials and the media
- Energizing examples of Muslim Americans who are successfully working for change every single day, and making a difference
Email iamchange@mpac.org to schedule a high energy, engaging and interactive workshop in your community.
