Join DOJ Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez, Dave Eggars & Howard Gordon at MPAC Convention
November 5, 2009
Exactly a month from today, MPAC will hold its 9th annual convention centered around the theme of "With Change Come Challenges". You'll meet people who share your commitment to be a part of the solution, interact with leaders and academics who are framing the public debate on issues we all care about, and learn how you can take the message back to your local community.
This year's speakers include:
- Thomas Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the Dept. of Justice
- Congressman Andre Carson (D-IN)
- Deborah Amos, National Public Radio Foreign Correspondent
- Howard Gordon, Executive Producer of "24"
- Dave Eggars, Author of "Zeitoun" & Screenwriter of "Where the Wild Things Are"
- Dr. Aslam Abdullah, Editor of the Muslim Observer
- Zarqa Nawaz, Creator/Director of "Little Mosque on the Prairie"
- Connie Rice, Civil Rights Advocate
- Kareem Salama, Country Singer & Songwriter
- Jamiah Adams, New Media Consultant & Trainer
We are also very excited about our parallel young leaders program, designed for high school and college students, that will feature discussions and workshops to empower them to become leaders in their community today.
Purchase your tickets online or by calling (213) 383-3443.
We look forward to seeing you on December 5th. If you have any questions, please visit archive.mpac.org/convention, call (213) 383-3443 or email convention@mpac.org.
