Dr. Hathout to Speak at 'Seeds of Peace: Meditation & the Engaged Life' Conference in LA

All-day event will explore the ways to bridge inner and outer peace

April 20, 2013

On Saturday, April 20, MPAC co-founders Dr. Maher Hathout and Salam Al-Marayati will present a "Truth Over Fear" workshop at the "Seeds of Peace: Meditation and the Engaged Life" all-day conference in Los Angeles. The workshop will look at the sources of anti-Muslim sentiment and provide attendees with tools to counter hate speech and general suspicion of Muslims in American life.

Organized by the Southern California Committee for a Parliament of the World’s Religions (SCCPWR) , the conference will explore the ways to bridge inner and outer peace.  They will be inviting communities who practice meditation to share their techniques such as Mindfulness, Mantra Meditation, Transcendental Meditation, Yoga, Sikh Chanting, Sufi and Kabalistic practices, etc., just to name a few.  For the first time, SCCPWR will also be inviting communities engaged in social activism to lead workshops as well.

Join Dr. Hathout at All Saints Church (132 N. Euclid Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101), and see below for a full schedule of events and speakers.
