Dr. Hathout to speak at AFPI's 'Preemptive Prayer Service for Peace'

October 14, 2012

On Sunday, Oct. 14, Dr. Maher Hathout, MPAC's Senior Adviser, will speak at Abrahamic Faiths Peacemaking Initiative's (AFPI) "Preemptive Prayer Service for Peace."

AFPI is a group of American clergy and religious activists who advocate peacemaking as an essential and defining mandate of our three faith traditions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. By bringing together a collection of each faith’s relevant teachings, AFPI aims to contribute an authentic and substantive religious voice to the current peace movement, to activate Americans of faith to insist on peaceful solutions to local, national and global conflicts, and in particular to end the war and U.S. occupation in Iraq.

Dr. Hathout will speak with Rabbi Leonard Beerman and the Rev. George Regas, as well as array of speakers, from youth, young adults to elders. The Children's choir from All Saints Church will also perform a beautiful interfaith chanting/singing section.

On this special day, AFPI will also be presenting it new interfaith curriculum, an incredible resource for faith communities.

The program will be at the IMAN Cultural Center (3376 Motor Avenue, Los Angeles California 90034) at 4 p.m.
