Director of DC Office to Speak at MPAC-WNY Annual Dinner

January 21, 2012

The first event of the year for MPAC-WNY is the annual meeting and symposium on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Islamic Society of Niagara Frontier at the Amherst Center in New York. Both events are free and open to the public.

Continuing the conversation from MPAC's 11th Annual Convention, "Spring Forward: America's Role in A Changing World," the symposium will feature three prominent speakers, including Haris Tarin, the Director of the MPAC's Washington, DC office, who will speak about the changing climate of the Middle East and North Africa and the implications it will have on the U.S.

During the annual meeting, which is also open to the public, the annual report and financial reports will be presented and board elections will be held. A reception with hors d'eovres and refreshments will be available.

MPAC-WNY is a bustling chapter that serves as the interface for the community with a large number of agencies, including those in the field of business, education, government, interfaith and media. MPAC-WNY takes on this role with care, compassion and commitment and the expertise to deal with the issues of homeland security, civil rights and civic engagement.
