Catch 'The Green Wave' on the Big Screen in LA & NYC

August 17, 2012

"The Green Wave," a powerful film documenting the populist protests in Iran following the disputed victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has hit the big screen and is now airing in Los Angeles and New York.

The film follows the controversial defeat of Mir-Hossein Mousavi in the Iran presidential election in June 2009. Using cell phone videos posted online, Twitter messages, animated blog posts and interviews with prominent human rights advocates and exiled Iranians, the documentary is a highly contemporary chronicle of the Green Revolution. Depicting brutal attacks by government militia in their efforts to squelch protest, "The Green Wave" is a memorial to all of those who believed in freedom and lost their lives for it.

The film is written and directed by Ali Samadi Ahadi, and it has won numerous awards at festivals around the world.

Catch it on the big screen in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall and Laemmle Town Center 5 and in New York at IFC Center.
