SCOTUS Currently Hearing Oral Arguments on DACA

Their decision on the three jointly held cases will have long standing ramifications

November 12, 2019

The U.S. Supreme Court is currently hearing oral arguments on the termination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The Supreme Court will decide whether to uphold the program or continue to separate families across the country.

Their decision will define our nation. Since the institution of DACA, more than 800,000 young adults have been able to study and work in this country without fear of deportation. This is about people, not politics. If the Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to follow through on their effort to end DACA, they will be placing millions of lives in immediate danger. Dreamers play an irreplaceable role in our nation. They work alongside us and are active in our communities. If DACA ends, recipients could lose their homes, livelihoods, and sense of security. Without DACA, they will be added to the list, including their 256,000 U.S. citizen children, of those potentially targeted by this administration for deportation and separation from their families.

We have long expressed our opposition to the Trump administration’s rescindment of DACA and our support to those affected. We stand in solidarity with those who are making their voices heard through the number of nationwide rallies to protect DACA. You can follow along to the proceedings of these rallies here
