Postponing 2020 Media Awards due to Coronavirus

March 9, 2020

Dear friends,

The CDC has issued a warning and the mayor of Los Angeles has declared a local state of emergency due to increasing cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the U.S. There is no higher priority for us than the health, safety and physical well-being of our community and guests, so we have made the decision to postpone our 29th Annual Media Awards until further notice.

The entertainment industry has rapidly responded to the CDC’s warning with a number of concerts, festivals, film and TV shoots, and other events being canceled or rescheduled. These decisions are not a cause for alarm or panic, but are being made in an abundance of caution to help prevent the spread of the virus, particularly at large gatherings.

Thank you so much for your understanding. We will refund all purchased tickets in full within the next few days, and will continue to monitor this situation and keep you posted on a new date for the Media Awards.

In peace,

Sue Obeidi
Hollywood Bureau Director
