Nabeel Zewail: From intern to MPAC supporter

May 30, 2018

Ramadan Mubarak!

My name is Nabeel Zewail, and I first learned about MPAC at the age of 10. My parents have been involved with the organization for over 20 years, so in many ways, I grew up with MPAC. Their involvement taught me that our community’s civic engagement is necessary for us to become a valued part of the fabric of America, and to have a stake in all of the issues that affect our country's pursuit of freedom, equality, and justice for all.

My fondest memory of MPAC is the summer I spent as an intern. That experience gave me an insider’s view of the important work MPAC is doing, from civic and policy work to MPAC's Hollywood Bureau, shaping more authentic portrayals of Muslims on screen. Because of the deep impact this experience had on me, I became a supporter of MPAC myself, and have been now for over 10 years.

If you are #HungryForChange in these challenging times, join me in supporting MPAC with a gift of $250 to help continue this vital work. Your donation is zakat-eligible, tax-deductible, and very valuable.

Muslims have a claim on the American story as much as anyone else, and whether that claim is for better healthcare, education, immigration, or how we are reflected on TV and film, we have to be a central part of the conversation. MPAC does a great job of making Islam a relevant part of my life and makes me feel like a vital part of the larger Muslim community. This Ramadan, will you join me in supporting MPAC with a gift of $250?

Wishing you and your family a joyous, hopeful, and blessed Ramadan.

Gratefully yours,

Nabeel Zewail
