MPAC Stands in Solidarity With New York and New Jersey

September 19, 2016

The incidents in New York and New Jersey over the weekend have left us all deeply saddened and disturbed. We firmly condemn these attacks and the individual(s) behind them.  Our thoughts and prayers are with those wounded, their families and the first responders who are ensuring our safety.

Law enforcement officials have identified and taken into custody a suspect who may be connected to the bombing in New York, and the attempted attacks in Seaside Park and Elizabeth, New Jersey. We applaud the efforts of law enforcement officials in their efficiency in apprehending the suspect, and are calling for full cooperation in bringing the culprit to justice.

We stand united with the communities of New York and New Jersey and most importantly, all our fellow Americans during this time of crisis.

We are currently working with federal law enforcement and community leaders to discuss the incidents and potential backlash, and we encourage all local communities to continue to cooperate with law enforcement to discuss methods of securing institutions during this critical time.
