On This One, MPAC Agrees with the President, The Manchester Bomber is a “Loser”

May 23, 2017

Press Release

(05/23/17, Washington, D.C.) -  Last night, 22 innocent lives were stolen and about 60 of them injured in the despicable and cowardly #ManchesterBombing. ISIS has claimed responsibility for this calculated atrocious attack that targeted mainly young girls. This horrifying act violates the principles of every faith and is unconscionable. Nothing is more unnatural and devastating than the act of terrorizing innocent children who were united in music and joy.

Our sincerest prayers are with the souls lost and our condolences to the families that will bear the pain of burying their loved ones.

As American Muslims, we must work just as hard to root out the cancer of hate in whatever form it takes, whether it comes from those who would twist our religion for murderous deeds or those who would use fear to assault the bedrock principles of our nation.

MPAC President Salam Al-Marayati issued a strong statement condemning ISIS’ ideology and attacks on FB live video. He said, in part: “We agree with President Donald Trump when he says that this bomber is a loser….ISIS you are an enemy to us. We are an enemy to you. When we say that we are American Muslims, we stand for an Islam that brings life to our civilization. We stand against those who bring death to our civilization.”

MPAC’s DC office also led a group of interfaith leaders to deliver a wreath to the British embassy today.  A LaunchGood campaign #MuslimsforManchester was created to raise funds for the victims and their families.
