DOJ Convicts Three Kansas Men for Mosque Bomb Plot

April 20, 2018

Our partners at the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division successfully obtained convictions of three Kansas men of hate crime and weapons of mass destruction charges for plotting to bomb an apartment building and mosque in which Somali immigrants lived.

Hate crimes against American Muslims and religious institutions continue to rise and this conviction is a reminder that places of worship can be particularly vulnerable. We thank DOJ's Civil Rights Division for prosecuting the individuals and their actions as hate crimes and ensuring the safety of the Garden City community and the Muslim community at large.
