It's still a Muslim ban, and it's still unconstitutional

The Muslim ban is back. Yesterday, President Trump signed another executive order that will restrict severely immigration from 6 Muslim-majority nations and suspends the U.S. Refugee Admission Program for 120 days. While this executive order was tweaked from the last, don't be fooled: this is still a Muslim ban. Take a look at the American Immigration Lawyers Association summary and analysis of how the new ban will impact communities.

We need Congress to step up and speak out against this false narrative, and we need our national political leaders to create policies based on fact, not fear.

We are working on Capitol Hill to repudiate and defund Muslim Ban 2.0, but we need your help to put the pressure on Members of Congress. Call your junior Senator, senior Senator, and Representative now! Your representatives only act when they hear from you.

White House Advisor Stephen Miller said "you're still going to have the same basic policy outcome for the country [under this new executive order]." Don't forget that Trump campaigned on a blanket ban of all Muslims coming into the United States or that Rudy Giuliani told Fox News that the executive order is a legal way to restrict Muslim immigration. Their intentions are clear.

Many national security experts have criticized the travel ban, saying that national origin and religion are not valid indicators for security risk. A recent Department of Homeland Security assessment states that immigrants and travelers from the Muslim-majority countries included in the ban were "unlikely" to engage in terrorist activity based on their country of origin.

Our American values of freedom, mercy, and equality are being threatened. America - a nation of immigrants - should not turn it's back on immigrants and refugees. Congress must act now and act quickly.
