Shahbano Nawaz

Major Gifts Officer

Shahbano Nawaz serves as our Major Gifts Officer, having previously served as our Director of Development and Communications, and started her tenure as our Development Coordinator in 2014.

Shahbano was raised and educated in Los Angeles. She was a Presidential Scholar at the University of Southern California (USC) and holds a B.S. in Psychobiology with a minor in Bioethics. She went on to obtain a doctorate degree in Pharmacy from USC. Shahbano worked as a home infusion pharmacist .

As of 2014, Shahbano decided to pursue another service-oriented profession and joined MPAC to help with development and fundraising. She has served as Chair of the Academy of Islamic Thought (AIT) since 2009. She has gained development experience as a member of the Development Committee at New Horizon School Pasadena, and from serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Center of Southern California. She is also a founding Corporate Member of Bayan Claremont Islamic Graduate School.
