Layma Murtaza

Non-Resident Policy Fellow

Layma Murtaza is a graduate student at American University, finishing her second Master’s degree in International Development Management. With a solid foundation in government policy, she has contributed to the California State Assembly as a District Representative and served as a policy advocate at Asian Americans Advancing Justice. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis in political science, and a Master’s in Global Public Policy from the American University in Cairo. She is passionate about advancing democracy and human rights and dedicated to working with marginalized groups to promote equity and equality.
