Engie graduated from American University Washington College of Law with a Juris Doctor and Masters in International Affairs. In law school, Engie was a student attorney in the International Human Rights Law Clinic representing clients in defensive immigration court proceedings and evaluating international legal options and advocacy strategies for a non-profit organization representing a religious and ethnic minority.

Previously, Engie was a legal intern at a national public policy firm working on issues in constitutional law, civil rights and liberties.

Engie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government & International Politics with a minor in Economics from George Mason University.
