  • House Introduces the HEROES Act

    May 15, 2020
    Earlier this week, House Democrats introduced a bill, the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act, which is a follow-up to the CARES Act. The bill is expected to go up for a vote this upcoming Friday, a welcome sight amid a lagging Congressional response to the dramatic health and economic consequences of COVID-19.

  • National Muslim Task Force Recommendations for Ramadan During This Pandemic

    April 28, 2020
    In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, American Muslims must modify and tailor their practice of the holy month of Ramadan to uphold public health measures and ensure their own safety and the safety of those around them. We recommend social distancing, performing prayers at home instead of mosques, providing zakat and sadaqah to organizations working on the front-lines to protect impacted populations, and using one’s discretion and consultation with Islamic authorities to determine whether they should fast if they face extenuating circumstances.
