35 Years of MPAC

35 Years of MPAC

American Muslims have been here since the start.

From slaves brought here against their will to recent immigrants arriving to chase the American dream, American Muslims represent the most racially, ethnically, politically, and economically diverse faith group in the entire country. And for 35 years, MPAC has been at the forefront of ensuring our communities are heard in the halls of power and authentically portrayed in T.V. and movies.

But our work is not done.

Assaults on Democracy. Rising White Supremacy. Children facing Islamophobia in schools.

Our communities still face a litany of challenges.

Donate now to ensure that we can continue to push our work forward for the American Muslims of tomorrow.

Donate now to ensure our children and grandchildren can grow up with love, conviction, and pride in who they are.

Donate now to ensure the next generation has institutions it can count on, and future leaders have the institutions they need to guide them.

Advocacy

MPAC has been a mainstay in Washington for over a decade, providing American Muslim perspectives to lawmakers and advocating on behalf of our communities in the U.S. Capital. We remain committed to fighting for policies that benefit everyday Americans– and against policies that fly in the face of our values. American Muslim issues are American issues, and we are proud to stick to our Islamic values while advocating for just and fair policy change.

Community

Founded in Los Angeles in 1985, MPAC remains rooted in the community that supported a vision more than 30 years ago. Since then, we have been delighted to build pockets of support throughout the country, as American Muslim communities are hungry for strong institutions. It is the people- our mothers and fathers, our sons and daughters- that fuel our work, and keep us connected to our mission.

Representation

Some of our most impactful work takes on issues of representation, both in the halls of power and on the big screen. Whether it is giving our youth the opportunity to intern on Capitol Hill or pushing forward stories and storytellers from our communities, MPAC is working year-round to make progress in the perceptions and policies that impact American Muslims.
